The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum on the Upper East Side of Manhattan is not only home to some of the world's most renowned artwork, it is a significant work of art in itself. Designed over the course of 15 years by Frank Lloyd Wright, the Guggenheim Museum has become one of the most significant architectural landmarks of the 20th and 21st centuries since it opened its doors to the public in 1959.

"The Guggenheim", as the museum is commonly referred, hosts a permanent collection of impressionist, post-impressionist, early modern and contemporary art by some of the most influential artists of all time. Over 700 masterpieces by 300 artists including Matthew Barney, Pablo Picasso, Julian Schnabel, Mark Rothko, Man Ray, Chuck Close, Andy Warhol, Cindy Sherman, Marc Chagall and Vincent van Gogh grace the hallowed walls of the Guggenheim Museum.

Guided gallery tours of the museum's permanent and special exhibitions are led daily by knowledgeable docents at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. In addition to their notable contemporary and modern art exhibits, the Guggenheim Museum features artist and critic lectures, classes and workshops, performances and film screenings, and other exceptional special events and programs for adults, teens, kids, and families.
