Quintessential NYC Holiday Tradition
The ice rink at Rockefeller Center is one of the most quintessential holiday traditions in New York City, and I was so happy the skating season was open during my visit. I didn’t actually skate, but as I was re-exploring the massive quarters of Rockefeller Center for the first time in many years, I passed by the rink on my way to grab a snack at the Rockefeller Center Café.
Even just catching a glimpse of the rink full of skaters gave me the warm feeling that the holiday season had begun. I couldn’t help but sit for awhile and watch ask skaters of all ages glided by the giant gold Prometheus statue. The Rockefeller rink at night time is so beautiful – all lit up with the Christmas tree in the background. If you’re in NYC during the skating season, I fully recommend going to The Rink at Rockefeller Center, whether you want to skate or watch!
