The New Yankee Stadium - home of the New York Yankees
Having served the NY Yankees for over 85 years, the original Yankee Stadium was demolished in 2010 to make room for Heritage Field. Now the New York Yankees play at another, larger, $2.3 billion baseball park, also called Yankee Stadium. The new Yankee Stadium contains 63% more space than the old Yankee Stadium NY and features wider concourses and open views. Many of the distinguishing features of the original Yankee Stadium, such as the frieze that lined the stadium roof, have been replicated. The new center field scoreboard boasts 5,925 square feet of viewing area and can display up to four 1080p high definition images simultaneously. Over $10 million of baseball merchandise is housed within the new Yankee Stadium.
Gates at Yankee Stadium open at 10am for regular-season day games and 4pm for regular-season night games.
Backpacks, briefcases, large purses, bags, coolers, glass or plastic bottles and cans, laser pens, video cameras, laptop computers, firearms or knives, beach balls, and blow horns are not allowed in Yankee Stadium. Diaper bags, small children's backpacks, and small purses are permitted.
Yankee Stadium does not allow guests to leave and then re-enter the facility.

History of the New York Yankees
Retired Jerseys in the New York Yankee Museum in New York
Originally known as the Baltimore Oriels, this beloved American baseball team was first founded in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1901. Two years later the team moved to New York City, where for ten years they were known as the New York Highlanders. Between 1919 and 1923, many famous baseball players, including Babe Ruth, Wally Schang, Everett Scott, Carl Mays, Waite Hoyt, Joe Bush, and Sam Jones, were traded to the NY Yankees by Harry Frazee, owner of the Boston Red Sox, who used the money from the trades to pay off his significant debts. These trades would haunt the Red Sox for the next 86 years, during which time they won not a single World Series championship.
In 1923, the New York Yankees moved from the Polo Grounds, then the home of the New York Giants, to the newly built Yankee Stadium NY, the first triple-deck baseball stadium in the United States. At that time one of the largest baseball stadiums in the world, Yankee Stadium boasted a maximum seating capacity of 58,000. Crowds of this size were typical in the mid- to late 1920s, when legendary pitcher-turned-outfielder Babe Ruth was on the rise. Ruth’s popularity at that time was such that the first Yankee Stadium was nicknamed “The House That Ruth Built.”
