Easter, much like many holidays has become more of a fun family tradition than strictly a religious experience for many families in America. Whether you're celebrating Easter, Passover, or neither, egg hunts are a fun all-ages Springtime tradition. New York City has a wide range of free egg hunts in all 5 boroughs on Easter Day for locals without backyards and NYC tourists alike. We've got options for non-denominational Easter Day events in NYC!

Here is our list of the top Easter events in New York on Easter Day:

  • Easter Activities at the Childrens Museum: From 10am-4pm, Easter Events are free with $11 admission, and include activities for children aged pre-school and up. Projects will include Easter collages, paper egg decorating and a family fun egg hunt.
  • Kids Easter Party at PowerHouse Arena in Dumbo: This free NYC Easter event is located at a neighborhood bookstore in Dumbo and will include an indoor egg hunt, a bunny story time and festive freebies for the kiddos.
  • Bohemian Hall & Family Friendly Beer Garden: Starting this Sunday at 1pm the Bohemian Hall will have a beer garden, egg hunt and live polka music. This event welcomes all ages and the Easter Bunny may even make an appearance!
  • Staten Island Zoo Egg Hunt: This event isn't free, but it is affordable. In addition to zoo admission, participation in the zoo egg hunt is just $5  for kids up to 14 and $8 for adults. All ages can explore animal eggs and partake in craft projects to take home as souvenirs.

These all-ages NYC Easter events will allow you to make what you want of your Sunday fun. It's up to you to celebrate however you'd like with egg hunts, arts and crafts, animals, beer or all of the above!
