The New York Plaza Hotel is a luxury hotel that was built in 1901.  The Plaza features 282 rooms and boasts a premiere location on Central Park South and Fifth Avenue.  The Plaza Hotel is decorated in the ornate, rococo style of King Louis XV, which was considered the epitome of style at the turn of the century, and features 24-karat hotel bathroom fixtures.  The Plaza Hotel brings NYC transporation to a new level by chauffering guests around in a Phantom Rolls Royce, and when you book at a suite at the Plaza NY, you get a butler at your service. The Plaza Hotel New York is rich in style and even richer with history.

The first people on the guest list at the New York Plaza were the Vanderbilts, well known in the early 20th-Century as one of Manhattan's wealthiest families.  Today, the Plaza has retained and restored its rococo decor, and still caters to those for a taste of the finer things in life.  The Plaza Hotel's Champagne Bar, which once hosted Truman Capote's "Party of the Century," is still serving champagne and caviar to the elite and well dressed and the Oak Room.

Features:  Formerly The Persian Club at The Plaza, the Rose Club NYC brings the past into the present with signature cocktails and an epicurean menu sure to delight. Open until 2am for some of the best cocktails in NYC, The Rose is an Upper West Side favorite and a classic, elegant NYC lounge.

Why We Go: Sure, the cocktails at the Rose Bar NYC are a bit on the pricey side, but you are drinking that cocktail inside a famous NYC historical landmark.  So belly up to the ornate bar at the Rose Club NYC and order an Old Fashioned, a Pomegranate Mojito, or whatever you're feeling in this luxurious NYC lounge.

  • Pomegranate Mojito: This contemporary favorite takes an exotic turn at Rose Club NYC.  Hand-pressed English cucumber, and fresh mint bathed in Barcardi light, lime juice, pomegranate and club soda make this NY cocktail a Rose Bar NYC favorite.
  • The Persian Room: The Rose Club NYC is located where the classic Persian Room once was.  The Persian Room was a legendary nightclub that played host to the likes of Bob Hope, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Billie Holiday.

Inside Knowledge: At the Rose Club NYC, you can enjoy a 100-year-old bottle of Louis XIII Black Pearl Cognac ... so long as you have $2,500 to spend.

Do's and Don'ts:

  • Do Order a Cocktail: The cocktails featured at The Rose are a blend of signature concoctions and old fashioned delights.  Cocktails on the Rose Club NYC menu include the classic Sidecar, the Bellini, and the Hemingway special.
  • Don't Look Like a Slob: The dress code at the Rose Bar NYC is officially "smart and upscale." The decor, the prices, and The Plaza location give the Rose Club NYC a particularly fancy vibe.
