Skyline Hotel New York
Skyline Hotel New York
Features: The New York Skyline Hotel is located in the Clinton neighborhood on the West Side of Manhattan, also known as Hell's Kitchen. The New York Skyline Hotel is within walking distance to the Theater District and Times Square, and only two miles from Central Park. It is best known for its heated, indoor pool and its spacious and affordable NYC hotel rooms.
Why We Stay: The New York Skyline Hotel is in a low-rise, storefront neighborhood that attracts television and movie crews seeking an old-New York look. Entertainment-business guests mingle with leisure-travel families at the Skyline Hotel NYC, which is close to all of the major NYC tourist attractions.
- Location: You can't get a much better location than the Sheraton Skyline NY, which is walking distance to Broadway shows, Carnegie Hall, and Rockefeller Center and Hell's Kitchen's famous restaurant line-up.
- Affordability: The New York Skyline Hotel offers spacious rooms at affordable prices in NYC's recently gentrified Hell's Kitchen.
Inside Knowledge: Hell's Kitchen NYC where the New York Skyline Hotel NYC is located was once a rough and tumble neighborhood. But Hell's Kitchen has become gentrified, thanks to its Theater District location, and is now reffered to as the Clinton District, named after a park and garden established by the aspiring actors that moved in after the gangsters and trouble makers moved out.
Do's and Don'ts:
- Do Take a Dip: NYC pools are few and far between so you might as well enjoy the pool at the New York Skyline Hotel. It's heated, and is monitored by a lifeguard.
- Do Walk to Rockefeller Center: Rockefeller Center's skating rink, just five blocks from the New York Skyline Hotel NYC, is open in the winter and is one of the best places to ice skate in the world. Why? Because you are in Rockefeller Center NYC, skating underneath big golden statues and one of the world's largest Christmas trees! Even if you can't skate, some of the best people-watching in NYC happens at Rockefeller Center.
- Don't Not Explore: The area around the Skyline Hotel was the inspiration for the film West Side Story, and Hell's Kitchen does in fact, have a bit of a sordid past in NYC history. But in the Eighties Irish mobs, gangs, and crime, gave way to aspiring actors, a gay community and a ton of really great NYC restaurants.
- Don't Expect Free Internet: Hotels in NYC with free internet are few and far between. Expect to pay for internet access at the Skyline Hotel.
