3 Things One Should Never Bargain Shop: Sushi, Shoes, and Laser Hair Removal

Laser Hair Removal — It’s everywhere these days. Which makes it seem like it’s “no big deal” where you go to have it done, right? But nothing can be further from the truth. It’s still a laser being pointed at your skin, folks!

Or is it?

A lot of places, in an effort to save treatment time and money, use an IPL device to remove hair. The problem with that is, an IPL is not a laser, it is an Intense Pulsed Light which targets pigment. And while it does reduce hair, that is just a byproduct of it’s primary function: to target pigment (see Limelight, below). At Lumena, we use only a true Yag1064 wavelength laser, safe for all skin types. It takes a bit longer, but the results are worth it.

All techs at Lumena are Certified Aesthetic Laser Specialists who have been extensively trained at The SafeLase Institute of Connecticut.
