Rose Petal beauty tips for Valentines Day

Hello, Lovely!

It’s Valentine’s Day and there are roses everywhere! While they’re certainly pretty to look upon, roses have lots of uses when it comes to boosting your beauty routine. So hold on to those rose petals tomorrow, and read on for useful tips on how to incorporate rosewater into your routine.

Moisture Retention: A classic humectant, the essential oils found in rose petals can help retain the skin’s own naturally occurring lipids. The hydrating effect soothes even the most sensitive of skin, and helps plump up fine lines.

Oxygenating: Rosewater toners helps to stimulate the flow of oxygen circulation within the skin cell membranes, resulting in a brighter, smoother complexion that appears more radiant.

A fantastic base: For oilier skin types, a stronger, but still natural alternative to manufactured toner is to mix rosewater witch hazel in a 3:1 ratio. This refreshing toner can help large pores appear smaller.

Gentle relief for mild acne: The antibacterial properties found in rosewater helps to fight acne and breakouts, without offsetting the pH of the skin. Personally, I love to mix a tea drops of pure tea tree oil with rosewater in a small bottle and dab on affected areas with a cottonball (unbleached is best!).

3 ways to use rose petals for an at-home beauty treatment.

  • Soak a handful of rose petals for 15 min. Crush them with ground oats and a bit of honey (Manuka honey, if you care able). Gently use this scrub on face as an exfoliator.
  • After shampooing your hair, take a cup of rose water and use this as a final rinse. This will act as a deep conditioner while making your hair shine. And hey, who doesn’t love the smell of roses in their hair all day?
  • Mash a banana and add 3 tablespoons of rose water . Use this as a face mask and leave on for 20 min, This will help any dry/dehydrated skin.
